Hi all!
I have marked many unseens and continue to feel uncomfortable with the table of deductions for grammar mistakes. In a question worth 10 points, for instance, are 3 points taken off for minor and major mistakes alike?
For example: Would I deduct the same for a pupil who has left out a possessive apostrophe but otherwise has written a correct sentence (....the thumbs task is...) and for another who has totally mangled a sentence which includes at least 3 grammatical errors?
In these cases are 3 points always taken off, or is it up to 3 points depending on the severity of the mistake?
