Dear Etniers:
I want to mention that writing a letter of condolence in English is 
definitely not for everyone - not in terms of English and not emotionally. 
However, I think it can be an option, and the letters can be sent to 
families whose sons have fallen and whose parents are English speakers.
I really like Avi's idear of sharing our own feelings - however, only if the 
teacher is capable of coming up with something rather inspirational and not 
depressing.
