Subject: Updates on anglit.net We have posted the following on anglit.net: 1) Guidelines for the Oral Exam for LD Pupils - Winter 20072) The School of Education at Tel Aviv University is hosting a symposium on teaching English in the first grade. For further details follow the link from the front page of anglit.net.
3) Next year, the English Inspectorate will evaluate the implementation of the English Curriculum in a random sample of junior high schools. The purpose of this sampling is to determine whether teachers include the various components of the curriculum in their teaching and for inspectors to give both guidance and feedback to the teachers during their visits to the schools. It is hoped that such a process will assist teachers in implementing the curriculum in their own instructional practices. This decision follows the successful random sampling of high schools that was initiated last year.
This year we will conduct a pilot study of a small number of schools in order to obtain feedback about the different components of the curriculum that will eventually be sampled. The English inspectors will be discussing the documents that will be used in the sampling process (checklists and questionnaires) with the English coordinators. We welcome your comments and suggestions. The forms can be accessed from http://www.anglit.net
