Subject: To Americans with some experience with Medicare
Hi:
I am a retiree from New York University, which is affiliated with United
HealthCare for medical matters and insurance. On those rare occasions when I
needed some financial reimbursement I have never been asked to contact
Medicare. However, I have now received the following notice which, quite
frankly, doesn't make any sense to me:
> UHC needs the Medicare Explanation of Benefits before they can process the
> claim.
> The Medicare Explanation of Benefits is received after Medicare considered
> the claim.
> United needs that explanation to process the claim so that they know how
> much
> Medicare considered for the charges.
> You can contact Medicare at 1-800-medicare, to request the Explanation of
> Benefits for this claim > and then forward it to Benefits and we will then
> forward it to United for you.
Does anyone have any experience with such matters? If so, please contact me
as soon as you can.
Thanking you in anticipation,
Henry Mullish
