In reply to Geoff Dean's excellent letter, I don't expect that Japan has 40 
unruly kids in class.  I understand that classes are big, but our 
undisciplined pupils make it hard for anyone to reach anything.

I expect that there are many teachers out there who will claim that this is 
not the case in their classes, but it is, nonetheless, probably the norm.

And of course, we are aiming at people graduating high school able to use 
English of a global scale.
