Dear List,
Every Bagrut season I am shocked, once again, by letters like that of Kathie Pearlmutter and Sara G. Exams with questions that educated native speakers cannot answer, or are in doubt about, are unacceptable. Of course, questions that any high school teacher cannot answer are unacceptable. I mention native speakers simply because it serves to underline the problems of such exams.
I'm sure that Judy Steiner is aware of this problem, but I suggest that if other teachers feel as I do, an attempt be made to prevent this happening. I feel that the exams must be pre-tested and reviewed to iron out problems, before they are given.
