THis is to remind you that you, your students and children are cordially invited to Siach Va'Sig annual Debating workshops (teachers' participation is for free-you learn and help. 

Dear Teachers,
For over 10 years, Sia’h Va’Sig has been teaching debate, the art of public speaking and persuasion, to Israeli pupils. During those years, Israel has become one of the world’s most respected debating nations. Professionals from around the world come here to study our secrets. This year your pupils can learn these secrets too.
The workshop is organized by Sia’h Va’Sig – the Israel Debating Society. The training will be done by coaches from Oxford, Cambridge and Harvard Universities as well as champion Israeli debaters.
This unique opportunity will give pupils a proven advantage at school, in the army, at work, in fact in any social situation. 

What is debating?
Debating is the world’s most civilized method of persuasion. It is an intellectual sport where teams compete in rhetorical prowess. In debate you learn to argue convincingly and confidently and you learn to speak charismatically to an audience. You also learn to analyze issues and research ideas. 

What will you learn?

Sharpen Your Tongue
-Develop strong arguments
-Find the right words and the right voice
-Think fast – always have the right thing to say.
-Use wit and humor

Sharpen Your Mind
-Read and understand the personalities and emotions of others.
-Analyze topics logically and recognize tricks of persuasion.
-Organize your thoughts and understand difficult concepts more quickly.

-Make a telling first impression
-Use body language and gestures effectively.
-Conquer stage fright and appear confident.

How does the course work?
Pupils work with instructors in small groups practicing skills so that they become second nature. All of the work, including the lectures and the exercises, are performed in English. 

Is it Fun?
You bet. Most of the pupils who participate not only keep coming back - they convince their friends to join as well. 

Will it improve their English?
Absolutely! The improvement in spoken English is dramatic, far beyond anyone’s expectations and you do not need to be a native English speaker to participate.
