Before I go off to teach the last lessons of the week, I promised a friend 
that I would ask the ever helpful member of this list if they can be 
of...HELP

My friend has a frind who is destitute.  She has a small boy of 4, no job, 
no home and no money.  The social services say they can do nothing for her.

Does anybody out there know where she could turn for help.  She is from 
Russia, educated, speaks English, among other languages, but finds it 
difficult to get on in jobs where she is working with other people.

She is desperately afraid that her child will be taken from  her.

She has no family here.

I know from the experience of another friend, that there appears to be no 
safety net in Israel, but I would be delighted if someone could prove me 
wrong.
