Fellow ETNIANS'
Last year Irgun HaMorim also told us in the middle of the school year that
we could decide whether or not to do the projects.  Since our 10th grade
students were halfway through the projects, our English staff decided to
continue and finish the projects.  And in retrospect, we made a lucky
decision since our students already have one project done and are completing
the second one this year.  This will give us more time to work with them in
12th grade.  Realistically, I think we all know that that the NBA is in and
the Irgun's order is a belated one. How can we not participate in the NBA
when we have already built our whole year around it?  By the way, last
summer we changed the gmulim system in our school with the support of our
principal to : 10th grade ES-1.5 hours (E),  11th grade 3pt. class (A)- 1
hour,  4pt.class (C)-1hour and 5pt.class (E)-1.5 hours and ES (F)-2 hours.
In 12th grade:  3point class(B+C)-1 hour, 4point class (D+E)-2 hours and
5point class (F)- 2 hours.  It all works out to the gmulim in the old system
(Not more, but not less either). The gmulim stayed the same as they always
were for the 12th grade since the students are doing the old Bagrut. No one
has complained.  Of course, I think we should get more gmulim hours because
of the projects,,,This should be negotiated by our unions before the start
of the school year.

My final remark is that I hope that the Ministry will be supportive of us
since so many of the logistic problems have been left to the individual
schools to work out.  WE ARE DOING OUR BEST!!  And we need to know  that all
of our efforts are appreciated.  A pat on our backs AND a raise in our
salaries would be nice???!!!   Barbara Ori
