The Longman Children's Picture Dictionary is the perfect tool to help your pupils improve their results in the Meitzav Exam. It offers rich vocabulary enrichment in context, while following Paul Nation's recipe for vocabulary learning:
* Recycling
* Quantity of exposure
* Intentional learning
* Effective tasks that involve the pupils
The pupil's dictionary is rich, colorful and fun. Pupils love to find the hidden object on each page (and as they do so, they become familiar with the page itself).
Each theme has a suggested activity, which is designed for integrated pair work as well as a dialog, which embeds and strengthens the vocabulary in authentic context. In pairs, pupils practice the dialog while replacing the theme words to create different exchanges.
Each theme has a song / chant in a catchy tune which allows for additional multi-sensory practice and enforcement. The accompanying CD strengthens listening skills, assists in correct pronunciation which in turn improves pupils decoding skills and activates the pupils background schema for each theme.
The CD has added value for pupils with learning disabilities as well as for weaker pupils. It introduces a multi-sensory aspect to learning which is a proven factor in improving learning for LD and weak pupils.
