I teach Native Speakers in 7th, 8th and 9th grades, and some of our 
favorites are:

We and They, I Loved You Enough, Piano, old age sticks, Facade, I Have a 
Dream, The Godfather, The Ransom of Red Chief  (all of Cool Collection 2)

The Hitchhiker, The Mouse (from Cool Collection 1)


I usually use these pieces to kick off themes relating to the subject 
matter.  For instance, I use The Godfather to introduce a unit on crime, 
murder mysteries, and comparing books and movies.

I would also appreciate other teachers' feedback on this matter.  I'm always 
looking for something new and fresh.
