Is this an April Fool joke?
FIrst of all, most of the student teachers I've been in contact over the past year have little intention of actually staying in the system and some of them (not all ) don't really have a level of English required to teach ... a working knowledge of vocabulary and basic grammar... Many new immigrants - with some previous experience abroad - can't deal with the Israeli students.... I'm not sure WE can but we've come to accept it .... It would be really wonderful if that money was allocated to creating smaller, more managable classes and providing schools with equipment ( books,yes, but also those tools that were required to get "heterogeneous" classes working - remember all those worthless workshops telling us that we should set up listening corners, workpage corners ,etc. Most schools don't even have the photocopying rights necessary to deal with 40-pupil classes. Sorry to be so negative.. I really do love the school where I work but I know it's not a "typical" situation and I know how much frustration is felt by my friends at other schools ... jesg
