Before my aliya in the late '70's, in NY state on channel 5, every evening at 10.00 p.m. there was a public service announcement, " It's ten o'clock; do you know where your children are?"
We live in a "pass the buck society." (witness the ongoing corruption and passing of the buck regarding EVERYTHING in this and every other recent government.) It is obviously most convenient for parents to blame us (plebian servants/slaves to the state,) rather than take their parental responsibilities serioiusly.
I have 5 children. Each (4 now married,) was asked before leaving for the evening : "Where are you going and with whom?" "When do you plan on returning home," and finally, they were requested that should there be a delay, to please call us so we would not worry.
