Subject: ETAI Spring Conference in Haifa
Dear Colleagues,
Hundreds of enthusiastic teachers and students showed up for the ETAI Spring
Conference in Haifa yesterday.
This time it was at a new venue, the Reut Junior High School, and the
participants, as well as over 20 different exhibitors displaying their
wares, were very pleased with it.
Highlights of the conference were Dr. Ofra Inbar's talk entitled, "Becoming
an Expert EFL Teacher: What Does It Mean?" and Dr. Judy Steiner's plenary
session, "Different Perspectives: One Way of Thinking."
There were no less than 30 other presenters, two of whom had just returned
from participating in the TESOL Conference in New York,
Aviva Shapiro and Michele Ben.
Kol hakavod to the Haifa committee (Fran Sokel, Miriam Melamed, Monica
Rahvalschi, Omaima Kaldawy, Yosef Daghash, and Penny Ur) for planning and
organizing such a successful conference!
If you couldn't make it to Haifa, you can console yourself by attending one
or both of the ETAI mini-conferences planned for May:
one will be in Ramat Gan (for elementary school teachers) on May 20th, and
the other in Nazareth Elite on May 28th. Look for details to be posted!
With all best wishes,
Marna Snyder
