Thanks to all those who expressed interest in our EFL courseware by
downloading the free versions.
Some of you asked if it wasn't possible to get this courseware with an
American accent. Well, the standard versions of our three packages - English
4 Beginners, English 4 Students and English 4 Business - all speak the
King's English. There is a good reason for this. We use Microsoft
text-to-speech, and the British version, which features a female voice, just
sounds nicer to the ears than the American version, which features a male
voice. We don't know why this is, but it's a fact. If, however, some of you
insist on getting the courseware with American accent, we will try to
accommodate you. So our flagship, English 4 Students, can be now downloaded
in Americanese. (Yankee Doodle has even replaced British Grenadiers as theme
music.) B'H, we soon will have other the packages speaking American English
too. The address for downloading is
www.english4students.com/students-amer.exe. As previously announced here,
the complete package is free to all Etnians. For your unlock code, e-mail
me at lewisl@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx or call me at 02-5023617 or 050-6734414. For
those of you who don't mind the British accent, the web address to download
the regular version is still www.english4students.com . (One note of
caution: If you have already installed the standard version and you want the
American accent, you will have to uninstall British English. So go to your
Control Panel, choose Add or Remove Programs, and then select Lernout and
Hauspie British TTS engine.)
