Subject: Can anyone help me?
Hi,
I am trying to understand a sentence from a reference book I have called
'Who's Who in the Bible' . The entry is about Gehazi, the servant of Elisha.
The sentence is the following:
Elisha's first question to him on his return from cheating Naaman, 'Whence
comest thou, Gehazi?' was used by Rudyard Kipling as the first line of his
blistering attack on Rufus Isaacs (later Lord Reading) for his dealings,
when Attorney-General, in Marconi (telegraph) shares immediately the wreck
of the Titanic dramatized the value of Marconi's invention. [sic]
Do I understand correctly that the word 'after' is missing after the word
'immediately'? Or did I completely misunderstand this sentence? Does anyone
have enough background information to make sense out of this sentence?
Thanking you in advance,
Avraham Roos
