Subject: Call for Jokes and Brainteasers in English
Hi all-
I am looking for jokes/riddles/brainteasers to use in the last few minutes
of productive double lessons (that is,lessons in which we have not
wasted time on unrelated things) with a high-level (five point) twelfth
grade class. The idea is to widen their English vocabularies while
having a few laughs as well.
(I got this idea from my 12th grade son's physics teacher, who does
this on a regular basis. The kids enjoy the comic relief the end of the
lesson, and, for us, it is a way of getting English in from another angle.)
The only trouble is that I am running out of my own accumulation of
jokes, and I need an infusion of new material. I am speaking of jokes
with a 'twist' or double meaning, or jokes/riddles/brainteasers which
make the kids think—not the 'what is black and white and re(a)d
all over' type of riddle.
Any ideas? The kids and I would appreciate it.
Margie
