"It was the best educational experience of my life!" So stated one of the previous participants in A.C.T. - Advanced Course for Teachers - to be held this summer 
from July 1-6th at Oranim Teachers' College.
This intensive, six day residential course, for experienced teachers only, is a coordinated ETAI/ Oranim project. The program includes four mini-courses, as well as guest speakers, opportunities for reading and discussion, and individual projects. Following are the projected topics and course leaders: 

Elisheva Barkon on teaching reading
Lynn Barzilai on teaching literature
Penny Ur on current issues in TEFL methodology
Janina Kahn-Horwitz on learning difficulties
Participants must be current members of ETAI, with at least 5 years' teaching experience. Cost: 725 NIS, which includes tuition, course booklet, room and board for all six days. 
(ETAI subsidizes the cost of accommodation and meals.)
All participants who finish the entire course will get "gmul hishtalmut" for 56 hours, with a grade. 

DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS:  JUNE 1st
