To Lev,

The following words of yours astonished me as I I did not understand
that
this was what the poll was asking. You say you are just voicing your
opinion
which is of course fine and welcome but you also seem to interpret
things
differently than I do.

"You might just have missed the point of the poll which essentially
asked
whether the pleasure and feeling of accomplishment of being a teacher
outweighs the pain, misery and humiliation of being one"

Where did it say ' pain , misery and humuliation '..???. These are
harsh
words.. If you feel so strongly maybe you need to take stock along with
all
the other teachers who feel this way . By saying I am insulted I meant
that
I try to see the good in things. NO PROFESSION IS PERFECT.

I am tired of people always seeing the bad side of teaching.. EVERY job
has it's downside.. I bet if you asked a policeman or woman with 20
years of
experience if they could change their job you'd find the same
statistics.

Most people at a certain point in their career (in my humble opinion)
stop
and take stock of their lives and think , maybe they should have done
something else. So the fact that 47% of teachers feel they would choose
another profession is not surprising only sad.

I would like to see people looking at the positive side of the
profession
more than the negative. That is all I'm saying. However if you
misunderstood than my apologies.

Now as for being an understanding person (which you seem to want make
fun
of) . I am an understanding person but perhaps not always with certain
adults. Don't worry I'm working on it.!!

Take care
Aviva
