Dear ETNI staff,
It is a great idea having teachers post their students' work on the Net
(Writing - Students Write about Music) but someone has to proofread
what's there! Some of the English they use is off, which is something
ETNI cannot allow - or am I wrong and somebody did notice it and let
it go 'uncorrected'?
Please check it out and decide for yourselves...
==============================
*ETNI note - This issue has been raised many times, in different forums
and in different parts of the world, ever since students' work first
appeared on the Internet (about 14 years ago). There has not been any
clear agreement about the matter.
We would therefore like to open this up to discussion over the list (and
perhaps follow it up with an ETNI poll):
1) Should ETNI proofread and correct all student work sent in by
teachers before putting it up on the ETNI site?
2) Should ETNI return student work to a teacher, asking the teacher to
first proofread and correct the work, if this has not been done before
submission?
3) Should ETNI accept all student work submitted by a teacher and put it
up as is - leaving it to the responsibility of the teacher as to the
level of English there?
