Subject: a question concerning tapes and hours.
From: "amy" <amatus@xxxxxxxxxxxx>
To All Those Concerned (and that's all of us!!)
What is going on with payment (either in hours or money) for the time we all
spend making tapes for tests? We are all being asked to give back hours to our
classes, yet we are still doing volunteer work. I asked someone at my school if
we could use the hours we spend making tapes as some of the hours we need to
give back and I was flatly refused.
Was something mentioned about this in the strike agreement? What about when we
have to give more hours in small groups? Aren't the students that need these
tapes a small group (getting larger all the time but still small)? Can we
finally get paid for some of these hours?
Could anyone tell me how you are working out the additional hours that have to
be given back at your school? It seems like they want us to work round the
clock now. What about these poor students? How can they possibly study an 12
hour day?
Waiting for your responses. Thank you, Amy
