hi,
Why don't you ask the kids to choose from a LIST of about 9-10 prepared books,
with questions guiding them throughout the reading? That way they will HAVE to
read the book, and it will also make them feel more confident whilst reading,
having POINTERS throughout. Then the student/s who do/es best in the questions,
or book report or whatever you decide, will win the prize. I don't like the
idea of trying to cram books down their throat, and personally would try to
promote and encourage the reading of ONE book rather than lots,This way they
can really ENJOY what they are reading, rather than not really taking in what
is written.

What do you think?
