I totally agree that students should know how their grades are calculated.
I have a 5 point 11th grade class.  Beginning last year, when I attended a 
course on the NBA and projects, and a meeting in Tel Aviv, I told these pupils 
- then in the tenth grade - how the NBA was structured and how their grades 
would be calculated.
Since that time, I was required to, and attended another NBA seminar and have 
been reading all  the ETNI Ministry bulletins.
I have to say, I wish I hadn't told my students anything, but had waited.
Since first talking to them, I have had to correct or change theinformation I 
gave them - well, I've lost track of how many times. Now, I just read about all 
the changes, and do not inform my students of anything but the most important - 
like a whole new module.  Before they take their various modules, I will let 
them know the latest.
