Hi,
Just to say that I so agree with you on the question of book reps. For
years I have been ginving short stories instead of making them read
books (that they never did anyhow) and now that our pupils have to buy
Linda Tahalev's Cool Collection, I simply demand they read stories from
that and give them either a test on them or they have to do work
themselves - during the summer holidays for instance. This serves a
dual pupose. Firstly, they are reading and secondly they are enriching
their English literature.
