In the BNC corpus - educative occurs with a frequency of 65 in 100 million
words, and educational 5,809 times.
Typical collocates of educative are purpose, experience, process - so it
looks like the adjectives function in a similar way, but educative occurs
much less frequently and therefore there may be pragmatic restrictions.
