I believe the new modular system tests a great deal of the
pupils' ability to absorb information and analyse it. I do not
believe that the Israeli school system prepares them very well for this.
Will I sound heretical if I say that many years ago when I
studied in the NY state public school system, we spent more
time in Elementary school dealing with reading comprehension
tasks and zilch time decorating notebooks? Is it my imagination
or are our pupils experts at learning by rote and not taught
early enough to think analytically? Are they taught that at all?
I am overtired so apologize for typos. Was with school at
Yom Yerushalayim parade....
