 Learning Disabilities in English as a Foreign Language: Assessment and 
 Cognitive Intervention

 Course Description
 Levinsky College of Education offers this new, professional, 
 state-of-the-art course. It provides teachers with a unique opportunity
 to explore traditional techniques and technology advancements in the field
 of learning disabilities.
 
 This interdisciplinary course provides teachers with the skills to
 assess learning disabilities as well as the tools to build programs for
 remediation for learners from the early years to adulthood. Teachers are 
trained to
 deal with those learners with learning difficulties both at the individual
 level and in the classroom.
 
 Target Population
 English Teachers, special education teachers and counselors who work
 with struggling students in English as a foreign language.
 
 Eligibility
 EFL Teachers at all age levels and teaching styles, special education 
 teachers, technology teachers, rehabilitation specialists and
 educational counselors. The program requires at least three years teaching
 experience. A good working knowledge of English is essential. Candidates will 
be 
 interviewed by an Admissions-Committee.
 
 Certification and Accreditation
 This is a two-year program that will meet weekly on Tuesdays .The
 sessions will be held from10:00 a.m. to 18:00 p.m.
 
 Participants who complete the two-year course successfully will receive
 a certificate of qualification from Levinsky College of Education, to
 work with learners with special educational needs.

 Registration for the 2005-2006 academic year is now taking place.
