 A short, simple dictation, where every word in the dictation must be spelt 
wrongly but logically, i.e. phonetically or like another word spelt "strangely"

  (The book is lying on the floor under my desk.  I can't pick it up because 
...).
  You then get the pupils to come up and write on the board what they have 
written.  It's a fun lesson and kills 2 birds, or maybe 5 or 6, with one stone. 
 It provokes a lot of discussion and not a bit of noise, but it's Purim,  
Nothing is wrong as long as it makes sense.
 
Choose a topic for the dictation suitable for you class, of course.
 It's suitable for all grades at their own level.
 
 You can actually do it straight onto the board if you prefer.  I personally 
think it's better to let each one try on their own or even in twos first as 
then they get a chance to think a bit before an idea is put into their heads.
 
     REMEMBER TO HEAD THE WORK - PURIM.
 
   I marked these dictations once and couldn't understand why so many good 
pupils had made so many simple mistakes until I looked at the date.
