Was in a school that used this system, except we didn't have an intercom
to call for assistance. There are good and bad aspects to all programs
that are system wide--all kids know what to expect. Still there are
always teachers who seem to succeed better than others with regards to
discipline. HAREL program is certainly better than just leaving the
teachers alone to deal with the problems or expecting a teacher to
intuitively know how to work with the problem children.
IMHO if class sizes aren't reduced, nothing will really succeed.
Moreover ALL classes of LD kids should have NO MORE than 12 children in
them.
My own problem was that I couldn't deal with the pressure of the large
classes of kids (26 non-readers was a nightmare too) no matter what the
discipline system was.
Having a better time working in university or private situations.
