[etni] Re: ETAI Convention

Dear Colleagues,

after contemplating for about a month weather to write or not to write, I
finally decided to do it. So, here it is.

This year is the first time in eight years I missed ETAI conference. The
reason is simple - it's expensive.
I am not a new teacher, and I live 10 min walk from the conference venue.
I am also a mother of three. So, between the membership fee, the conference
cost and the babysitter fee it all came to 500 NIS.
By no means I believe that it was not worth it. I also understand completely
that this is how much it costs and nobody is taking advantage of me.
Organizers try to do everything possible to lower the costs. However, I
still couldn't bring myself to spend so much money in two days.
I write not to complain, but to make others aware of the problem. Maybe
together we can find a solution. (Cheaper catering, organized activities for
children, etc)
