Yes. Would'n it be simpler for you to remove the
executable filetype or change the action associated with executable
files ?

Also, e2 has a specific syntax (that I won't tell you because I forgot
it) to ask the user for arguments/input in a nice popup box. It might
be helpful to look at the doc for that.
