That problem was spotted soon after 0.1.8 was released. There is a patch:

emelfm2.net/files/OtherDownLoads/attachments/e2-0.1.8-06-08-09.patch.bz2

which can be applied to fix it (and a couple of other things).

I'm thinking about an official 0.2 release in a week or so, to incorporate that 
patch and anything else reported in the immediate future.
