I don't feel terribly strongly about having built in vfs functionality.
Handling file archives is easily enough done without having e2 handle
it automagically, IMO. One "vfs" thing I would like to see is SMB
browsing, though.

What about GConf and its attendant dependencies? I'm not a GNOME user,
and I'd be pretty unhappy with gnomish dependencies, myself. One of
the big selling points of e2, IMO, is that it does *not* depend on
any desktop environment. The better it can stand "on its own" the
better I'll like it.

You know, I never used that either, but I just fiddled about with
it for a few minutes. I don't see a great big advantage over just
extracting archives the "normal" way, but I wouldn't call it
"unpleasant" to use.
