Turns out that the DnD arrangements are programmed to match gtk's
approach (as reflected by the overlays gtk adds to the DnD icon).
Suppose that makes it some sort of standard, even though a bit clunky,
as you say.
However, the emelfm2

Added odt and ods to the respective sections of default filetypes.
BTW, the icon-problem described in your recent message turned out to be
gtk mis-behaviour, affecting a few (newer?) stock icons. I've done a
work-around.
