[EMAS] Shorebirds at Beaver Lake

After a fruitless trip to the Parkway, which was covered by pea soup fog, I
stopped by Beaver Lake about 11:00. Ran into Vin Stanton, who brought out his
scope to to get a better look at a couple of shorebirds, which turned out to be
a Greater Yellowlegs and a Pectoral Sandpiper. The latter is a first for me at
Beaver Lake. in addition to several Killdeer, there was one Spotted Sandpiper.
About 2 dozen Blue-winged Teals are still there.

A pair of Blue-gray Gnatcatchers were the highlight of the songbirds. No new
warblers for me - only Yellow-rumps.

Maybe with sunny, crisp weather tomorrow morning, we'll have some warblers for
the Saturday bird walk.
