Generally, when my building were east of the house, I never knew we had
livestock., to speak of anyway. and I was <200 ft away from 20k chickens,
800 hogs.

My prevailing winds are from the nw, n, w and south

We're off the main street through town. It has a line. Our road does not.
Line says 'traffic'.

First rule of country living - find out which way the prevailing winds blow.
You want to be upwind, especially in the summer. It seems that if the cows
have enough pasture you will not smell them, it's when they are crammed
together and over graze the pasture making a muddy mix of 'stuff' it gets
pretty stinky. The ones we had in front used to stand in the creek, so they
were - more or less - clean. As to the folks who live downstream...

And they can be loud. I guess you'd call it a 'bellow' ??? (You farmers
can help me here.) I have determined that they are particularly dumb
though.

Hint on finding the way the wind blows - look at farmer's house in relation
to farmer's barns. Barn should be downwind of house so barn smells go away
from house.

Happy Hunting.

. We told our realtor if the street had a center line, we weren't
interested.

What do ya mean? No main roads?

About the cows, I figure their not loud, but maybe a smell. ????
