I know that it made a huge difference for me to go with the 3 wire O2 sensor
instead of the one wire, especially at start up. Even though it isn't wide
band like yours, and it's a GM ECM, the car still idled down much faster. So
I know it was reading the mixture much sooner. The only difference was the
heated sensor.
