Hi Ian - great to have you aboard. Don, wood is a carbon neutral fuel. So although it does give off carbon when burned, it is the same amount that has been absorbed naturally by the tree. I believe oil and coal are carbon dense, so they release a lot more carbon. -----Original Message----- From: Don [mailto:dyates@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: 14 March 2007 21:39 To: eekosmembers@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [eekosmembers] Re: Wood fired water heater plans required Question: What is environmental impact of burning wood for heating? _____ From: eekosmembers-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:eekosmembers-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of ianblandford Sent: Wednesday, March 14, 2007 2:09 AM To: eekosmembers@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [eekosmembers] Re: Wood fired water heater plans required kev , chip heater the origanal australian hot water system.google it. small chamber that you feed chips of timber into with flue off spiral wound with copper pipe on inside with cold feed at base and hot outlet at top.simple science.regards all eekos members ian. ----- Original Message ----- From: Kevin Ison <mailto:kevin@xxxxxxxxx> To: Members <mailto:eekosmembers@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> email list Sent: Wednesday, March 14, 2007 3:47 AM Subject: [eekosmembers] Wood fired water heater plans required Hi all, does anyone know where I can get the plans for a small wood fired water heater for a spa bath? I have a contract to do one at La Rosa campsite where we installed composting toilet in Gypsy van. I am considering using a cast wood stove and putting stainless steel through to catch heat, but a small stainless burner may be cheaper. Tub manufacturers use one called a Chofu, but they are expensive. cheers, Kev Kevin Ison eekos Limited The Old Hackfall Grewelthorpe HG4 3BW Company Number - 5504935 www.eekos.com _____ No virus found in this incoming message.
