[eduos] http://www.inf4serv.rug.ac.be does not show up on foreign search engines.

Let us submit http://www.inf4serv.rug.ac.be on Japanese search engines,
Hispanic search engines, German search engines, etc.....

It is not necessary to translate your website in order to submit it on
foreign search engines...

Multilingual search engines submission is not about doing business with
foreigners in their native language but rather bringing foreigners to your
website to do business with you in English!

However, you need to have at least 1 page in French optimized with French
keywords in order to submit on French search engines, at least 1 page in
Japanese optimized with Japanese keywords in order to submit on Japanese
search engines etc.

Let's assume that you're trying to reach the Hispanic market: we would then
create a Spanish page optimized with your Spanish keywords. It would have a
similar look and feel as your home page. It could be considered as your
"Spanish entry page". Such page would tell Hispanic users in their native
tongue that by entering your website they should expect all content in
English and that also all correspondences must be established in English as
well! This is the "culturally correct" way to make your first steps on
foreign e-markets....

As it stands Internet users searching on German search engines, French
searchengines, Hispanic, Portuguese, Italian, Japanese or Chinese search
engines cannot find your website! In fact, it probably has not been
optimizednor listed accordingly.... Many website managers report that their
site show up abroad! When looking at their traffic reports they note that
they are receiving visits from China, Germany, Africa and so on! Here is
whatthey should know:

The international visits that they currently experience are from astute
foreign users who have accessed U.S. search engines and conducted their
search in English. These multilingual users are in a small minority.
Researches show that they are less than 1% of the foreign web users. Think
about the fact that over 99% of all searches abroad are conducted in the
native language of the user.... this is of course only normal.
