The Department of Psychology at the University of Memphis invites
applications for a non-tenure-track Visiting Assistant Professor beginning
in January 2016. The appointment is for one academic year, with the
possibility of renewal for a total of up to three years, with full
benefits. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in the area of cognitive science or
related areas in psychology. The department is especially interested in
applicants with a cognitive psychology focus and experience with teaching
introductory and upper-level undergraduate courses. This position will
require primarily fulfilling instructional duties. The Visiting Assistant
Professor will teach up to four courses per semester. These courses may
include Perceptual Psychology, Thinking and Cognitive Processes, Research
and Statistics I and II, and Introduction to Psychology. Applicants are
required to submit a cover letter, statement of teaching philosophy,
curriculum vitae, and contact information for three reference providers.
