Thanks so much, Dave. ANN FOXWORTH, BRAILLE CONSULTANT DARS/DBS CRISS COLE REHABILITATION CENTER 4800 N LAMAR AUSTIN, TX 78756 PH: 512-377-0471 From: duxuser-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:duxuser-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Dave Durber Sent: Wednesday, May 05, 2010 5:09 PM To: duxuser@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [duxuser] Re: running header Ann: First of all, you have to decide what type of running header you want to use. A running header, that appears at the top of odd pages, A running header, that appears at the top of even pages or, A running header, that appears at the top of every page. The [svrhpn] code will do this. Replace the n with the numbers, 1, 2 or 3, to determine where the running header will appear. [svrhp1], will place a running header at the top of every odd page. [svrhp2], will place a running header at the top of every even page. [svrhp3], will place a running header at the top of every page. Once you have decided on an odd, even or every page running header, the next thing to do is enter the text for the running header. The text for the running header must be placed between the following codes: [tls] (Start definition of running header) and [tle] (End definition of running header) If, at any point in a document you want to stop the running header, use the [tld] (Discontinue running header) code. Note: One of the drawbacks of DBT, is that you cannot have alternate running headers for odd and even pages at the same time. So, for those of you who are using MS Word to prepare your braille documents, it is unlikely that you will not be able to define different running headers for odd and even pages and expect them to appear in the braille output. This is because, DBT will only allow one defined running header to be in use at any one time. HTH sincerely: Dave Durber
