Hi Kathy,
Provided you have created your Table of Contents, using Word's Heading
Styles, and the ToC generator, you're pretty well set to do.
First, you will need to "Save As" a File Type "Word 95/2003 (.doc)". Note
this is Word's "Save As" rather than just "Save".
You will now be able to open the .doc file in DBT.
This may seem a weird thing to do, but you need to now delete your Table of
Contents, and determine where it will be placed in the braille file.
Personally if embossing Double-sided, I like to begin the ToC on a right (odd
numbered) facing page.
Translate, place your cursor where you want to ToC to begin, and from DBT's
Layout Menu, select "Generate TOC". Press F1 in that dialog for help if needs
be.
You will then see your TOC appear.
You don't mention of you want Braille or Print Page numbers to appear. If
it's for personal use, many prefer to have braille page numbers, but we can
discuss that issue later if you need them.
Hopefully this will at least get you started.
