You can make the entire Word document normal if you want. I generally
do not because I want to use the heading 1 and heading 2 styles, which
get imported into Duxbury at h1 and h2, respectively. If you aren't
worried about these, just select the whole document and click "normal"
in that little drop down box (it should be on your toolbar - if not,
choose "Format >> Styles and Formatting...").
If you do want to preserve heading 1 and heading 2 styles (which may or
may not have been recognized by omnipage) you will have to scroll
through the document to one of the paragraphs that is importing into
Duxbury as b-bodytext. Look to see what style it is, then do a find ...
replace command to replace every single character in that style with the
same character in the normal style (after saving a backup copy, of
course). To do this, press Ctrl+h, type (*) in the "Find what" box and
\1 in the "Replace with" box. Press the "More >>" button. Check the
"Use wildcards" box. Then click inside the "Find what" box, choose
"Format > Style..." and choose the style that is importing incorrectly
into Duxbury. Then click inside the "Replace with" box, choose "Format
> Style..." and choose normal. Hit "Replace All" and give the computer
a moment or two to replace every character.
Good luck! I hope I explained this well.

Can I make the entire Word document NORMAL or is this a style that needs
to be inserted before each paragraph? And yes please, tell me how. I
know DTB but can get really lost in Word.
Many thanks

This probably has to do with styles within Word. Make sure all
paragraph text is in the normal style (you can choose style in the
drop-down that lets you choose Heading 1, Heading 2, Clear Formatting,
etc). You may have to do a find/replace to replace * of whatever style
is making the b-bodytext with the found text in the normal style. Let me
know if you need details about how to do this.

A volunteer group is going to do some scanning for the library and they
will be using Omni Page. The software has been set-up and I've put a
few of the files through DBT 10.6. I'm noticing that the paragraphs are
not always indented correctly. I do realize that the braille document
will only be as good as the cleaned-up scan. Files that I've worked
with either have a <para> code or a <b-bodytext.> Is there a difference
and what should be done in the Word document to insure that paragraphing
works correctly. I would assume that the >para> code works best? I'd
like to get the group started in the right direction.
Thanks for any help that anyone can provide.
