George,

You're absolutely right, and I'm mindful of that whenever I create or edit a Word document. Unfortunately, that's a tough one to sell to people who (a) don't understand the difference between a line break and a paragraph, and (b) insist on whacking the Enter key every time they want to go to a new line. It can be a losing battle to get people to do things the right way when it's so easy to do them the wrong way. Same goes for indenting the first line of a paragraph. It's much easier to do so by pressing the Tab key than to go to the Format menu, select Paragraph, tab to the combo box for indents, downarrow to "Indent first line", tab to the edit box for how much to indent, and finally press Enter. And yes, I know I could make a hotkey that does all that, but I'm too tired after describing the process, so I think I'll just quit and go to sleep even if it is only 5:30 in the afternoon <sleepy grin>.

Steve

Hi Steve,

Your suggestion is OK in principal, but in fact Word has a
proper command for a New Line, as opposed to a New
Paragraph.

It is Shift + Enter.

George.
