The agency for which I work uses a billion acronyms and I'm noticing
that I receive meeting handouts crammed with acronyms which have been
translated into contracted braille. For example for information
technology the acronym it translates to x. For the acronym DARS, the
ar-sign is translated. Are there rules about acronyms in braille
translation? I like the acronym style in Duxbury and use it often but
these handouts are usually prepared by a person not familiar with
contracted braille.
