[duxuser] Re: Printing Problem

Hi Peter,

As Roger has suggested, it's most likely an embosser problem, and so you should
contact the manufacturer for advice.

However, if the embosser is running Serial, you might like to check that you
are indeed using the correct serial cable, and that both the PC and the
Embosser's Serial settings are identical. You or your technician may like to
read on.

For the more technical, what appears to be happening is that the printer's
handshaking is not being handled correctly. Consequently when the printer has
received as much data as it can store prior to printing, it should send a
signal to the PC to stop sending any more data.

This is usually done in one of two ways. Xon/Xoff, where signals are sent via
the Transmit and Receive wires, or Hardware Handshake, where two additional
wires are used to send the signals. However, if one device is set for
Xon/Xoff, and the other for Hardware Handshake, the results can be
unpredictable.

Subject: [duxuser] Printing Problem

Hello my trouble is when I try to emboss a large document say over ten or
twenty braille pages near the end of the documents the embosser starts to split
up the pages. it brailles half a page then stops. When I put it on line again
it brailles another half a page then stops again.
All the pages are brailled correctly except for this problem of it not
completing the entire document. I'm tired of cutting and pasting just to emboss
a few pages!
Please help me!

Peter
