Yes I had selected ROM 10.24 or older, that is the current setup for the Everest in Global settings. What about updating the firmware? On the website there are drivers for 64-bit computers; I have installed that. Is that right? There is also an Add Printer Wizard on the website. I think that is for installing the embosser when using WinBraille however. Should I have used that wizard to install the embosser, instead of adding the Everest as a generic text only device? In DBT's Global: Embosser Setup, select your Everest and the click on Modify. Navigate to the Device Setting Tab, and check that the "Embosser Version" is set to "Version 4 (ROM 10.24 or older)" . Yes I selected my Everest-D in global settings and started with the defaults of 30 cpp, 27 lpp, 0 margin, and 0 binding margin. Page one looked good, but 2 lines would print on the second side, and then subsequent pages were all wrong - text starts in the middle of the line and runs over filling first half of the next line, then next portion starts on the second half of the next line, so it's a kind of staggered effect. I tried changing the lines per page in the document settings, and also experimented with the top margin, but still no better results. I also tried to set the embosser to factory settings by holding the Group button while powering on, but after the beep sounded and I released the Group button, the message just said "this key has no function", so I am not sure that any reset happened. Should I update the firmware from 10.21? Looking forward to any assistance. Thank you all. Make sure your Everest is selected, then go down to the Desired Braille Document Formatting section and select A4 Form size there. It will set up some defaults, so try those to begin with, and you can tweak things if they are not correct later. Make sure you also have the Everest selected in your Document: Embosser Setup if you are editing an existing file. I am running: Windows 7 64-bit DBT 11.1 SR4 Everest-D V3 10.21 firmware as a generic text only device I want to emboss on A4 portrait paper. What are the settings for characters per line, lines per page, top margin and binding margin? Thank you in advance for any assistance. Tewai Halatau
