Perhaps being a Bell myself, I am privileged, since it works
for me.

Although I'd hardly describe it as a bell, more a beeeep.

What I cannot determine from the sound, is whether is it
supposed to be coming via the computer's internal speaker,
or through the sound card. Peter??

George Bell.

Ah, thanks for the clarification. So if I understand you
correctly, if I have 32 characters per line and want to be
notified at character 25, then I set the margin bell
position to 7?

Regardless, I tried a bunch of different values, and I was
in a braille document six keying, and the bell never tolled
for me. Does it toll for thee? :)

Whatever number I enter doesn't seem to "stick". Each time
I get into the Global, View Preferences dialog, the Margin
bell position edit box is empty.
