Lissa,

There is no reason that it couldn't.

But we wouldn't want it always to go around page numbers, because that may
not be appropriate everywhere.  So we'd want this to be an option.

Not knowing much about programming, :) is there a reason why the software
can't adjust itself to go around the page numbers? It is true that we can
set up a running footer, but that is an extra step, and perhaps a
complicated one for a beginner. If at all possible, it would be very nice to
not have to do this extra step.
