DBT 10.5 is not suitable for the Index 4x4. Due to numerous problems, please use 10.6 with the Index 4x4.

Having said that, I can relate to you that I identified a problem with the 4x4 in which I could not get as many lines as I wanted on a page. The limit I encountered was 23. I could put 22 lines on a page but not 23. However, I was not using A4 paper, so the presenting symptoms may come out different.

The solution was a firmware upgrade on the embosser. On this issue, be very careful. Certain firmware upgrades are not suitable for certain embossers. Please don't just go to the Index website and download the latest update. Consult your dealer to find out which firmware is best for your unit.

Sorry it gets so complicated between DBT and the firmware, but that is the story as best I know. Good luck.

Are you feeding sheets that are to be folded and bound, or only printed

We have an Index 4x4 PRO which has not been working for many moons. It has
now been fixed but the settings on Duxbury do not seem to be correct for
this embosser. On A4 paper the maximum I can get is 22 characters and 20
lines. On the Index Everest D it is possible to get 35 characters and 28
lines on A4 paper and I would think that this should also be possible for
the 4x4 PRO as well.
